David Manners Next quarter Chartered Semiconductor will have design rules available for its copper process which it has licensed from Motorola. From Q1 2000 a dedicated copper fab, owned jointly with Hewlett-Packard and the Singapore Economic Development Board, will be able to produce engineering samples, and, in Q2, production quantities. The process delivers an effective channel length of 0.15?m, said Chartered president Barry Waite.
