CMOS logic standard builds support

Major logic chip suppliers Philips Semiconductors, Texas Instruments, Integrated Device Technology, Hitachi and Pericom have come out in strong support for the ALVC (Advanced Low-Voltage CMOS) logic standard.
The five companies said that their agreement on the ALVC standard will help drive the market for high performance low voltage logic chips and allow customers to mix and match products from different sources.
ALVC was first introduced by Texas Instruments in 1994 and industry wide support has been building steadily creating a de facto industry standard.
