Cypress cuts 300 jobs in reorganisation
Tom Foremski Cypress Semiconductor is reorganising its manufacturing and test operations with over 300 workers losing their jobs in the US and in Thailand. The reorganisation will result in the closing of its test facility in Thailand, the closure of its 6in. wafer Fab 3 and the reducing the scale of its Fab 2. Its state-of-the-art 8in. Fab 4 will take on the brunt of the production. Over 200 jobs will go in Thailand while 100 jobs will be lost in the US. Cypress CEO T.J.
