ERA looks to create 40 jobs
Steve Bush ERA technology, the Surrey-based commercial research company is looking to recruit 40 staff this year including RF, communications and software engineers. “It is part of our long term growth programme,” said ERA spokesman Michael Neil. ERA’s turnover grew by 16 per cent last year and the 500-staff company expects to need “hundreds” of additional staff over the coming years. “There is no one project driving the growth,” said Neil, “but a variety of RF, comms and other activities”. Tsunami, a telecoms waveguiding programme, is one example of the ongoing work at ERA. Others include designing array antennas for the telecoms industry; HIFLIRTS, a video-over-GSM project for security in passenger trains; optical recognition technology; 10GHz amplifiers and micromachined pressure sensors.
