First half results poor for Motorola
Tom Foremski Motorola announced disappointing first quarter fiscal results and warned that the second quarter would be 45 per cent below expectations. First quarter sales rose four per cent to $6.9bn compared with last year, but profits were $180m compared with $325m for the same period in 1997.
