GEC-Plessey Semiconductors’ (GPS) managing director Tom Urwin follows some 230 employees in leaving the company this year. He joined the company in 1993. Mitel bought GPS in February for $225m. Sixty five jobs were lost before the Mitel takeover and there have been 165 lay-offs since. Ernie Pusey, deputy managing director, resigned shortly before the takeover.
