Further funding boost for Artisan
Steve Bush Cheltenham-based Artisan Software Tools has received a further ?1.5m in funding to develop Real Time Studio, a product which models real-time computer systems. Start-up cash, of ?900,000, was provided by venture capitalists 3i in March 1997. Now 3i has put in a further ?900,000 and Quester VCT, a london-based venture capital company, has contributed ?600,000. Real Time Studio is based on Select, a non real-time computer modelling package that Artisan has licensed. Version 1 of Studio was released last November with a second version due next month. Artisan is unwilling to name its customers but CEO Paul Moorhead said: “It is being used to develop a sonar system, a naval ship ventilation system and a jet engine health monitoring system.”
