Govt slims down e-commerce Bill
Roy Rubenstein The government has slimmed down its e-commerce Bill to just 20 clauses in a bid to ensure a light regulatory framework that does not strangle this growing sector. Consumer Affairs Minister Kim Howells has promised that the Bill – expected to be published in the latter half of next month – would take a ‘libertarian’ stance. But in those areas where the government believed that action was needed, it would have strong and effective regulatory teeth.
