Intel CEO Andrew Grove is worried about the Year 2000 software issue and has told reporters that the situation could become “ugly” if the US government doesn’t address the issue more strongly.
Grove has called for weekly hearings for each branch of the US government to report on progress in tackling the Y2K issue. He also said that Intel is increasing its own Y2K efforts and has allocated one fifth of its IT budget to deal with the problem.
