Microcontroller and security products courses from Microchip
Simon Parry Microchip Technology has, this week, launched a series of seminars aimed at bringing engineers up to speed with using the PIC microcontroller and Keeloq families of products. The four seminars range from half-day and evening session introductory courses to whole-day in-depth studies for advanced users of the PICmicro product. The half-day Introductory PICmicro course aims to key new users an overview of the 8-bit Risc microcontroller’s hardware architecture and simple 33 to 58-word instruction set. The Advanced PICmicro course lasts for a whole day and explores the enhanced PICmicro core and provides information on 50 new products, peripherals and development tools. Both courses cost ?45 or ?99 including special edition development software. The evening session Keelog seminar introduces engineers to remote remote-keyless-entry (RKE) systems and the Keeloq code-hopping technology. Keeloq is designed to overcome the drawbacks of conventional RKE systems in which the code which can be `grabbed’ straightforwardly by the potential thief. The Microchip code-hopping technique uses 64-bit private key encryption.
