Microsoft eyes C&W
Richard Wilson Cable & Wireless Communications, the UK’s largest cable communications firm, is reported to be the latest telecoms target for Microsoft. This would be Microsoft’s third advance into the UK cable television market having already taken stakes in NTL and Telewest Communications. According to Datamonitor, by 2003 almost 11 million households in Europe and the US will be able to browse the Internet through a TV set.
