Pet passports to replace quarantine
Political correspondent A microchip-based system of pet passports is to be brought in over the next two years, Agriculture Minister Nick Brown has revealed. It will replace quarantine for animals for countries in the European Union, other rabies-free EU countries and possibly the US and Canada. He said experts were looking into the “practicalities of identifying pets by means of electronic microchipping”.
