The success in the TV studio and defence markets has yielded Radamec pre-tax 1997 profits of ?1.36m, on sales of ?14.2m.
Radamec is made up of four companies covering broadcast, defence electronics and control systems. The most successful operation is Radamec Broadcast Systems which has shown a 65 per cent increase in profits. This success, according to Radamec chairman Len Whittaker, is due to the company’s dominant position in TV studio remote camera control and TV studio virtual reality systems.
The company does not expect the strength of sterling or the economic problems of the Far East to affect sales.
