Rohm takes Japan’s best firm award
David Manners Japanese semiconductor company Rohm has been chosen as Japan’s best company under an evaluation system developed by the leading financial newspaper the Nihon Keizai Shimbun. The criteria for the ratings are social responsibility, profitability and growth potential, R&D capabilities and finally youthfulness. Rohm has won the award before, in 1995, and had a record pre-tax profit for the year to March 1998. It won in a competition with 1,139 Japanese companies.
