Siemens set for TriCore
Steve Bush Siemens is expecting engineering samples of its TC10 TriCore control and digital signal processor this June. “These will be for internal use,” said Ioannis Kabitoglou of Siemens’ TriCore marketing team. “The public will be able to get samples and evaluation boards in the third quarter of 1999.” According to Kabitoglou, the TC10 is a general purpose part meant for market development. Although Siemens plans to offer 100MHz, 120Mips TriCores, initial TC10s will be 60MHz, 80Mips processors. First TriCore core verification test silicon was produced in September last year.
