Based on the TIM-40 form factor, the module enables up to 16 DSPs on a VME or PCI carrier. The SMT316 module can be configured with either 512kbyte or 2Mbyte of SRAM per processor. Peak performance is 240 million floating point operations per second, the company said. Applications could include speech verification, synthesis and recognition. Software support comes from Edinburgh firm 3L with its Parallel C compiler. Each module is priced at ?990.
