Surfin’ USA costs more
Tom Foremski Web surfing is becoming more expensive in the US, a trend likely to be repeated in the UK. AT&T Worldnet and Microsoft’s WebTV last week raised rates, especially for keen users of the Internet. The price rise follows recent fee increases by America Online for its ten million users and usage based pricing from other major Internet service providers (ISPs). “Few, if any, ISPs can thrive by providing generic flat-rate access,” said analyst Business Research Group.
