Alex Mayhew-Smith A ?16m venture capital fund has been launched by Royston-based The Technology Partnership (TTP) to invest in emerging European technology companies. The fund, TTP Ventures, will be initially created by money from TTP and the Netherlands venture capital firm NPM. However, there is scope for the fund to expand. “A number of major corporations and financial institutions are at an advanced stage of discussions,” said David Connell, CEO of the fund. Technologies of interest to the fund include telecoms, IT, medical equipment and instrumentation. “Strategic partnerships with companies such as Hitachi, Analog Devices, Merck and Smithkline Beecham have played a key role in TTP’s development, and we will encourage the companies we invest in to pursue similar strategies,” said Connell.
