UK training firm on course for Altera and Xilinx FPGAs
Richard Ball UK training company Esperan has teamed up with Altera and Xilinx to offer four new courses in programmable logic and synthesis. The courses target designers new to FPGAs and those who have some experience but wish to extend their knowledge. The first two courses, one for each programmable logic company, will teach beginners about the FPGAs themselves. “With FPGAs, the key thing is that the designer has to understand the underlying architecture of the programmable device,” said Dennis. “The two things engineers must grasp are understanding the architecture and how to access it through coding style and the synthesis tool.” The second pair of courses address the synthesis side of FPGA design. Aimed at designers with both FPGA and synthesis knowledge, they teach how to improve coding style to make designs smaller and run faster. See Technology.
