US facing anti-dump complaints
Tom Foremski Taiwanese DRAM manufacturers hit back at their US rivals by filing an anti-dumping complaint. The Taiwan-based chip makers claim US producers are selling their DRAMs below the cost of manufacture. The filing is in response to an earlier anti-trust complaint made against Taiwan’s manufacturers by US firm Micron Technology. The complaint states that US DRAM producers are dumping memories in Taiwan and forcing local manufacturers to pull out of the market. Local industry, it claims, has suffered ‘material injury’ by the dumping.
