Vocalis plans ?8.7m flotation
Alex Mayhew-Smith Cambridge-based speech recognition company Vocalis is planning to raise ?8.7m in a placing of 10.9m shares. Vocalis will use the money to market and develop its speech recognition systems, including SpeecHTML, which will allow users without computers to access Internet sites using only their voice. The product will also allow e-mail users to contact their mail boxes by phone.
