Wristwatch is also a PC
Tom Foremski Japanese watchmaker Seiko Instruments has developed a wristwatch that doubles as a PC. Called the Ruputer, two models will be launched in Japan first.The watch features a tiny LCD display of 62 pixels by 102, an infra-red port and 512kbyte of ROM and up to 2Mbyte of memory. Full details are not yet available but Seiko says that the Ruputer will have a 16-bit microprocessor and run Microsoft’s Windows 95 operating system. Users will be able to swap information with other Ruputers, and transfer files using the infra-red port. The two models will be available for $285 and $360.
