Xilinx is preparing a web site that will allow FPGAs and other devices to be reconfigured over the Internet plus offer easy availability of online design tools.
Xilinx Online will include Xilinx tools and services and also design tools and software interfaces from third party companies. Engineers will be able to download logic functions for FPGAs over the Internet.
Last week, Xilinx demonstrated its Internet Team Design (ITD) technology at the Design Automation Conference. ITD uses Java along with Xilinx design implementation tools to allow chip designers collaborate on new chips.
“ITD technology provides the means to efficiently and effectively integrate and co-ordinate the design inputs on an iterative basis. Designers will see how the project leader can use ITD technology and the Internet today to manage large design teams through complex projects for creating next-generation applications,” said Rich Sevcik, Xilinx senior vice president of software, cores and support.
