Zilog acquires Seattle Silicon

Zilog has acquired Seattle Silicon which has key technology for the design of analogue devices and mixed signal system-on-a-chip technology.
The exact value of the deal was not announced but described as a multimillion dollar acquisition, the first under Zilog’s new CEO Curtis Crawford. Seattle Silicon staff will become part of Zilog’s new Seattle, Washington based design centre.
“This asset acquisition will enhance the customer value of our existing products and, more importantly, play an integral role in future product development at Zilog,” said Zilog CEO Curtis Crawford,
Founded in 1983, Seattle Silicon pioneered silicon compilation and developed system-on-a-chip technology in 1995. The company’s products include electronic keys for realtor lockboxes, security alarm modules, network transceivers, computer game communications modules, moisture detectors, amplifiers, wireless transmitters, processors for satellite receivers and missile guidance systems.
