ASML tells us its sales in China are subject to the Wassenaar Arrangement on Export Controls for Conventional Arms and Dual-Use Technologies.
“We can say that, looking at China’s ambitions in the IC industry, it is likely that there will be interest in EUV and we can confirm that we are compliant to the Wassenaar Agreement,” says ASML, “so if we want to ship EUV to China, we currently have the licenses to do so.”
ASML plans to make 20 EUV machines this year, 30 next year and 40 in 2020, says Shen.
China currently accounts for 20% of ASML’s revenues.

This article states that ASML’s equipment would not be subject to the Wassenaar Agreement. This is not true and this is not what ASML’s president in China said in the DigiTimes article. He merely stated that ASML has been able to ship certain systems to China, complying to all the export regulations such as the Wassenaar Arrangement.
